Let’s start with the BASICS!
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol, [kanəbəˈdīäl.]
CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in hemp plants, with a history of being used medicinally for thousands of years. Unlike other cannabis compounds, CBD is non-intoxicating and non-addictive, making it an excellent choice for self-care and medical relief. We are proud to be part of the movement that is breaking the stigma of therapeutic plants and showcasing CBD in the spotlight.
CBD vs. THC
One of the largest misconceptions, mostly common within the novice community, is that CBD equals good, and THC equals bad. Both have superior healing benefits and this power couple among the other phytocannabinoids were designed to synergistically work together—to enhance one another, and to deliver maximum results.
Verde Collection promotes the use of full spectrum hemp extract in our products, as we believe that it is the most effective way to take advantage of the synergistic properties of the cannabis plant. The combination of CBD and THC, along with other phytocannabinoids, offer a range of therapeutic benefits that are unparalleled.
What does "Full Spectrum" mean?
Full spectrum extraction is an extraction method chosen to preserve all the natural compounds found in the plant, resulting in a full spectrum oil.
At Verde Collection, our full spectrum hemp extractions are designed to preserve the most compounds naturally occurring in the plant, delivering effective and beneficial products to you. Our full spectrum oils contain a myriad of compounds, such as terpenes, flavonoids, proteins, and more, including trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) equal to or less than 0.3%. This small amount of THC actually enhances the effectiveness of other cannabidiols like CBD, creating the synergistic experience of wellbeing known as the ‘entourage effect.’
The Entourage Effect
Experience greater therapeutic effects with full-spectrum products that use the Entourage Effect. This effect occurs when multiple cannabinoids work together in synergy, providing you with a more meaningful experience than CBD isolate. By using the whole plant extraction process, full spectrum aims to preserve as much of the plant’s natural compounds as it can for a deeper connection with the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Enjoy the power of the Entourage Effect with full-spectrum products for a peak performance!
Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
Optimizing the body’s homeostasis is essential for optimal health and wellbeing. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a critical role in achieving balance, with CB1 and CB2 receptors distributed throughout the body. CB1 receptors are found in areas such as the brain, spinal cord, bones, and heart, while CB2 receptors are present in the immune system and organs like the brain and liver. When the body is stressed and internal balance is disturbed, the ECS provides feedback loops to cannabinoid receptors to restore balance. Taking advantage of CBD’s ability to support the ECS may help keep the body in balance and promote overall health.
The difference between Phytocannabinoid and Endocannabinoid
Phytocannabinoids are plant-derived cannabinoids that interact with and mimic the effects of the body’s endocannabinoid system. Endocannabinoids are produced naturally by the body, and are involved in the regulation of homeostasis, the process of maintaining balance within the body. Phytocannabinoids and endocannabinoids have similar structures and interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system in similar ways, however, endocannabinoids are naturally produced by the body while phytocannabinoids are derived from the cannabis plant.
Color & Clarity, when choosing your tincture
Are you feeling overwhelmed by the vast selection of CBD products? Unsure of how to choose one oil over another? At Verde Collection, we set high standards when crafting our CBD products, and you should too when shopping for CBD in the retail market.
Here is what to look for:
Color—Discover the Meaning of Colors in CBD Oil and How to Choose the Right One! You may have noticed a variety of colors in CBD oil products. Color can be a great indicator of the refinement and quality of the product. Generally, the lighter the color, such as an amber or golden hue, the higher the quality. To ensure you get the best quality, we suggest avoiding CBD oil that is green, brown, or black.
Clarity—The clarity of CBD oil is vital, just like a diamond. Avoid oils with chunks or floaters as this is an indication of issues during the extraction and distillation process.
Origin—Where does hemp come from? If a company is not transparent about their source or claims it is “proprietary,” it is best to look elsewhere. You deserve to know the origin of your hemp-based medicine before using it. Let us provide you with ‘Seed to Shelf™’ transparency.
Organic—Get the peace of mind you deserve with certified organic CBD from Verde Farm! Our little green stamp guarantees the product is free from herbicides, pesticides, and other harmful substances. We only use organic farming practices and microbiome-rich soil to ensure top-quality products from seed to shelf. Don’t just take someone’s word that it’s ‘organic’ – get the security of certified organic CBD from Verde Farm.
Will CBD come up on a Drug Test?
There is still a small chance, even though it is unlikely. At Full Spectrum, we use the “whole plant” concept when making our products and this can include traces of THC, since it is a natural part of the plant. We are thoroughly tested by a third party and comply with federal law, as our products contain 0.3% or less THC in all 50 states. We advise that you consult with your workplace regarding CBD use and their policies for employees.
CBD Oil /Hemp Oil vs Hemp Seed Oil—is there a difference?
CBD oil /Hemp Oil and hemp seed oil are both derived from the hemp plant, but they have very different uses and benefits.
CBD oil/ Hemp Oil is the oil extracted from the cannabis’ aerial parts that contains high levels of cannabidiol (CBD). It is known for its therapeutic effects, including relief from pain, anxiety, and inflammation.
Hemp seed oil, on the other hand, is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant and is known for its nutritional value, containing essential fatty acids and minerals. Hemp seed oil does not contain any CBD and is not used to treat medical conditions.
Is Hemp the same as Marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana are sister plants under the cannabis umbrella, but their genetics are quite different. Marijuana genetics naturally create high levels of THC and low-to-no CBD, while hemp creates lower levels of THC (usually under 0.3%) and naturally creates high levels of CBD.
Despite this difference, both types of cannabis offer therapeutic advantages.
What steps can I take to ensure my Full Spectrum product stays within legal limits?
At Verde Collection, we use third-party testing to make sure every product has its own COA (Certificate of Analysis). To find your product’s COA, look for the 5-7 digit number at the bottom of your product/packaging. Visit our Certificate of Analysis Page now to learn more!
